It is only possible for United Hope for Animals to save the lives and help ease the suffering of countless dog and cats with the help of dedicated and committed volunteers.

Please join us in making a difference in the lives of the creatures that exist only to make our lives better: domesticated dogs and cats.

We are currently only able to train volunteers in the Los Angeles area. If you live out of the area but have an idea for helping from afar, we would still love to hear from you.

96% Adoption Rate

The Glamour Shoot Days at both the Baldwin Park Shelter and the Downey Shelter have produced adoption rates in excess of 96% for the animals we photographed.

Pets Euthanized: 66
Adoption Rate: 96.3%

Downey Shelter

Dogs Networked: 1,858
Pets Adopted/Rescued: 1,788
Pets Euthanized: 70
Adoption Rate: 96.2%

Without the efforts of UHA and other rescues, approximately half of the dogs entering the shelter may end up euthanized.

Donate to Help Shelter Pets

Our dedicated volunteers photograph and videotape shelter dogs every other weekend so people like you can see how wonderful they are! This effort improves their chances of adoption from as low as 50% to close to 95%, but we need more supplies and financial support to help keep this amazingly effective process going.

We support the Baldwin Park Shelter's efforts to adopt out dogs by regularly compiling a detailed and attractive list of Adoptable Animals, which we network online and to other rescue groups, and also by uploading information about specific dogs to website like Adopt-a-Pet and Petfinder to increase their chances of finding a forever home.

An animal who is dumped at the shelter has it hard enough. But injured and sick animals have it even worse.  They have almost no chance of being adopted by a member of the public—and the chance of them making out of a high kill shelter alive is very slim. These are the animals that have been abused and neglected or hurt and these animals needs a some additional help—they need an angel on their side.
