Shelter Support Program

Our dedicated volunteers photograph and videotape shelter dogs every other weekend so people like you can see how wonderful they are! This effort improves their chances of adoption from as low as 50% to close to 95%, but we need more supplies and financial support to help keep this amazingly effective process going.

We support the Baldwin Park Shelter's efforts to adopt out dogs by regularly compiling a detailed and attractive list of Adoptable Animals, which we network online and to other rescue groups, and also by uploading information about specific dogs to website like Adopt-a-Pet and Petfinder to increase their chances of finding a forever home.

A Few Friendly Words

Volunteering with United Hope for Animals has given me amazing opportunities to give back and directly help dogs that would otherwise be forgotten. Thank you, UHA!

Rescue Stories

Lancelot will forever be remembered for his brave struggle to survive an insurmountable illness believed to have been a brain tumor. We rescued him near the end of his life and despite all our efforts, he grew weaker and weaker and finally refused to eat. See Lancelot's Story.

Volunteers Needed

We are currently looking for volunteers to help maintain our website, our Facebook page and Meetup pages.

We also need people to advocate for particular dogs at the shelter, keeping track of their status and making sure the dog's information is correct.

In addition, we could use more people willing to foster and become adoption coordinators. We have a new "Meet & Greet" area at the Baldwin Park Shelter that makes it easy for people to meet and get to know dogs they may want to adopt in a more relaxed setting. Apply Now!
